HackneyedDeatholutionMonsters Of Metal Vol.7 Part 2
World's youngest death-metal act formed in Abtsgmünd, Baden-Württemberg (Germany) in 2006 by Philipp Mazal and Tim Cox. Shortly afterwards Lydia (Guitar) and Felix Papp (Bass) joined in. After their first gig Lydia left the Band. Seeking a guitar player and finding the bass player Alex Büttner, Felix Papp switched to guitar. Soon Devin Cox aged 14 completed the Band as second guitar player. Festival performances followed with Debauchery, End Of Green and Fear My Thoughts. Here label boss Achim Ostertag took notice of them. After finishing the first album "Death Prevails" in july 2008, Ostertag sent the release to miscellaneous label. Nuclear Blast finally signed them on. Their first performance at Summer Breeze Festival followed in August 2008. In the spring of 2009 Felix Papp left the Band and Juan Sierra took his place. Together they recorded their second album "Burn After Reaping". It was released in August 2009.
Quite possibly the youngest death metal band in history to be given a recording contract, with members averaging between 14 and 16 years of age, Germany's Hackneyed formed in 2007 and by the following year were already releasing their debut album, Death Prevails, through Nuclear Blast. Composed of vocalist Philipp Mazal, guitarists Felix Papp and Devin Cox, bassist Alex "iX" Büttner, and drummer Tim Cox (who, despite their English noms de guerre are in fact German), Hackneyed perform an extreme brand of death metal inspired by bands like Cannibal Corpse and Decapitated, with occasional detours into everything from grindcore to synth-backed atmospheric material.
